Day Skipper

The objective of this course is to teach Pilotage, Navigation, Seamanship and Boat Handling up to a standard required to skipper a small cruising yacht safely by day in tidal water with which the client is familiar.

(Pre-course experience required=5 days, 100 miles, 4-night hours)

Coastal Skipper Skipper

The aim of this course is to teach the skills and techniques required to skipper a yacht safely on coastal and offshore passages by day and night. It builds your experience to obtain yachtmaster offshore.

(Pre-course experience required =15 days (2 as skipper) 300 miles, 8 night hours)

The RYA/DOT Examination

This allows us to prepare you for these exams by participating in our coastal skipper preparatory course. we will arrange a RYA examiner for your 2 day exam. (Fee payable to the RYA)

Happy Dolphin 1 Day Sailing

A fun introduction to the basics of sailing, visit a port, snacks provided. All participants receive a certificate.

Adventurous Sail Training

The medium of sail training is an ideal environment for team building. We can offer a variety of excursions from a day to a week for the development of your team. Lunch is included in the price.

Fun Sailing Weekends

Sail Friday night to Cowes or sail up the river Medina to the Folly Inn and then a good days sailing on the Saturday to another local port. A leisurely sail back Sunday to arrive mid-afternoon at Gunwharf Quays. Price includes breakfast and midday snacks.

Charters

For many years Happy Dolphin has worked with local councils and charities to take children on fun and educational sails.

All crew are CRB checked.
